"Search for information"
01-08-02, 09:07 AM (GMT)
Hi,

I am practicing yoga and meditation, and I am interested in using biofeedback to get easier and deeper into altered states of consciousness and peak performance achieving. I am going to purchase biofeedback device for home training. I would be grateful if somebody provides me with information on:

· practical books on the topic (with description of physiology of meditation and/or altered states and protocols)
· links to the sites/articles on the subject
· which device is most suitable for training in the price range up to 5,000$ (e.g. I ran into the site of wireless brainwave analyzer IBVA www.ibva.com – does it worth buying ?)

Thanks in advance

Hi Yuri,

The best book on practical yoga is probably written by Swami Ajaya: YOGA PSYCHOLOGY: A Practical Guide to Meditation:

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0893890529/qid=1010497738/sr=8-3/ref=sr_8_71_3/103-0596302-6183830

As for biofeedback system, the BrainMaster system is the least expensive (under 1,000) but provide software, hardware and a training video for biofeedback and meditation. There is also a group for registered users only which has more than 300 members and it is constantly growing. Check the system out in the Product section of the http://BiofeedbackZone.com web site.
Hope this helps!

Is it just of yoga, or biofeedback questions are also discussed there?

I am more interested in books on using of biofeedback devices for meditation, etc.

The users of Brainmaster system use neurofeedback (EEG biofeedback) for meditation. I have not seen a practival book on biofeedback and meditation, but amazon.com search gives 6 books, all written by Gary Null:
